Advances in heat transfer are essential for addressing pressing societal challenges, including thermal management of electronics and data centers, energy efficiency, and advanced manufacturing. Scientific conferences play a vital role in advancing these efforts by providing opportunities for researchers to share knowledge, build collaborations, and develop professional skills. This project will provide partial support for students and early career researchers to participate in the 2026 ASME Summer Heat Transfer Conference in Bellevue, Washington in July 2026. The award will help strengthen the research community and ensure that emerging scholars can present their work, engage with peers, and learn about new developments. The project will also support workforce development and help prepare the next generation of scientists and engineers. This award will provide partial travel support for students and early career professionals to attend the 2026 ASME Summer Heat Transfer Conference, a flagship conference focused on heat and mass transfer and related fields. Participants will benefit from and contribute to a comprehensive technical program that includes plenary lectures, invited presentations, panel discussions, technical sessions, and poster sessions. Topics will span a wide range of areas, including energy systems, nanoscale transport, aerospace applications, computational modeling, and thermal management. The conference will emphasize active engagement through oral and poster presentations, as well as networking and professional development activities such as career panels and mentorship opportunities. The project will enhance the exchange of ideas and foster collaborations across experimental, computational, and theoretical approaches. These efforts will strengthen the national research ecosystem and advance knowledge in thermal sciences. It will support career development and help prepare participants to address critical challenges in semiconductor, energy, quantum and other emerging technologies.
