Notice of Intent to Publish a Funding Opportunity Announcement for Liver Cirrhosis Network: Scientific and Data Coordination Center (U24 Clinical Trial Optional)

<p>The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, intends to publish a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to solicit applications for research on liver cirrhosis. The Liver Cirrhosis Network has an ongoing clinical study, the Liver Cirrhosis Network Longitudinal Cohort Study; and an ongoing clinical trial, the Liver Cirrhosis Network Rosuvastatin Efficacy and Safety for Cirrhosis in the United States (RESCU): A Double -Blind Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Phase 2 Study. The purpose of the intended limited competition renewal NOFO of <a href="https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/rfa-dk-20-004.html" target="_blank">RFA-DK-20-004</a> will be to complete the enrollment in both studies: Liver Cirrhosis Network Longitudinal Cohort Study; and the Liver Cirrhosis Network Rosuvastatin Efficacy and Safety for Cirrhosis in the United States (RESCU): A Double -Blind Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Phase 2 Study. The Liver Cirrhosis Network Scientific and Data Coordination Center will provide clinical studies management and technical biostatistical assistance to perform data analyses; disseminate findings; and perform ancillary analyses. Applications are not being solicited at this time. This Notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop meaningful collaborations and responsive projects. This NOFO will utilize the U24 cooperative agreement activity code. Investigators with expertise and insights into this area of liver disease are encouraged to begin to consider applying for this new NOFO. In addition, collaborative investigations combining expertise in translational sciences will be encouraged and these investigators should also begin considering applying for this application. </p>
