Marine Navigation Improvement Fund

The Marine Navigation Improvement Fund (MNIF) provides grants and loans to ports incorporated under ORS Chapter 777 or 778. Funding is for marine navigation improvements, specifically for federally authorized projects requiring matching funds (25% state match) or non-federally authorized projects that directly support or access an authorized navigation improvement project. Grants are prioritized for projects resulting in job creation/retention or addressing critical public safety/imminent threats where the port's borrowing ability cannot finance the project.
