FTA Sections 5303, 5304, and 5305 Metropolitan and Statewide Planning

Provides funding and procedural requirements for multimodal transportation planning in metropolitan areas and states. The program is cooperative, continuous, and comprehensive, resulting in long-range plans and short-range programs of transportation investments. The planning programs are jointly administered by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Funds are distributed by the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) to eligible Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) based on a population formula.
