FTA Section 5339: Bus and Bus Facilities

Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5339 (Bus and Bus Facilities) is a federal pass-through program administered by the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) Transit Bureau. It provides capital funding for the replacement, rehabilitation, and purchase of buses and related equipment, and the construction of bus-related facilities. The program also includes the Section 5311 component for rural and intercity operating and administrative costs. Applications are submitted through the BlackCat system and are subject to regional prioritization and a risk assessment based on financial capacity and compliance history.
