Description
The FQHC Primary Care Workforce Initiative (also known as the Ohio Primary Care Workforce Initiative or OPCWI) is a state-funded program administered by the Ohio Association of Community Health Centers (OACHC) on behalf of the Ohio Department of Health. Its primary goal is to address primary care provider shortages in underserved communities by funding clinical rotations for medical, dental, behavioral health, advanced practice nursing, and physician assistant students within Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). The initiative provides compensation to FQHCs for the time their staff spend teaching and offers preceptor training and technical support.
