Description

The Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) program provides federal funding, administered by the New Mexico Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (NMDHSEM), to cover 75% of eligible fire suppression and emergency management costs. This funding is available to state agencies, local governments, Indian Tribes, and Pueblos for wildfires that threaten to become major disasters and have received a formal FMAG declaration from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The grant is reimbursement-based, and applications must be initiated within 30 days after the end of the declared fire incident period.
