ESD Regional Council Capital Funds Request

This program, administered by Empire State Development (ESD) through the NYS Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) portal, provides capital funds for projects that will have a significant economic impact on a region and/or the state. Funding is generally limited to 20% of total project costs, with a minimum request of $100,000. Projects are categorized into Business Investment, Economic Growth, Tourism, and Strategic Focus Areas (like childcare and distressed areas). Applicants must demonstrate alignment with the Regional Economic Development Council’s Strategic Plan and commit to job creation or retention goals.
