Description
– CORE 1 Core 1 will advance the overall goals of the FusOnc Program Project by providing administrative and statistical support that promotes collaborative interactions, cost-effective resource utilization and sharing, statistically rigorous study design and data analyses, and synergistic integration of data across all Programs and Cores of the Program. As administrative support, Core 1 will (1) provide organizational, administrative, fiscal, and scientific management, (2) arrange recurring meetings to ensure timely and productive interactions across all Project and Core teams, and (3) facilitate regular interactions with internal and external advisors through regularly scheduled meetings. Core 1 will provide statistical expertise for rigorous experimental design by performing power calculations to determine sample size and planning batches to minimize the confounding of technical and biological effects. It will also provide statistical expertise for routine data analysis with appropriate application of existing methods. Finally, Core 1 will perform integrative analyses of data across Projects and Cores by applying and extending existing integrative data analysis methods and developing novel integrative data analysis methods. In these ways, Core 1 will promote the successful completion of the overall goals of the FusOnc Program Project to advance mechanistic understanding of fusion oncoprotein-driven pediatric cancers and propel the development of mechanism-based targeted therapies against these cancers.
